The New York Islanders named forward Bo Horvat the 16th captain in franchise history on Monday.
Horvat, 31, tallied a team-high 31 goals and finished with 57 points in 68 games with the team in 2025-26.
He leads the Islanders in goals (99) and points (198) since joining the club in a January 2023 trade with Vancouver and served as an alternate captain in each of the past two seasons.
The two-time All-Star has 618 points (300 goals, 318 assists) in 881 games since the Canucks drafted him in the first round (ninth overall) in 2013. Horvat has 21 points (13 goals, eight assists) in 34 career playoff games.
Internationally, Horvat helped Canada win the silver medal at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina.
