Free-agent closer Kenley Jansen has agreed to a one-year, $10 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels, multiple media outlets reported Tuesday.
The right-hander is heading into his 16th season in the majors.
Jansen, 37, converted 27 of 31 save opportunities in 2024 with the Boston Red Sox to go along with a 4-2 record and a 3.29 ERA in 54 2/3 innings.
A four-time All-Star, Jansenβs 447 career saves rank fourth in MLB history. Baseball Hall of Fame members Mariano Rivera (652), Trevor Hoffman (601) and Lee Smith (478) are ahead of him.
Jansen is 49-36 with a 2.57 ERA in 871 career relief appearances with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2010-21), Atlanta Braves (2022) and Red Sox (2023-24).
